Reduction of Paper Usage in Plenary Session Kicks-off in Quezon City
The 18th Quezon City Council officially reduced its paper usage during its 59th Regular Session last June 04, 2012. From now on, Quezon City Councilors will now use their own laptop computers every session. These laptop computers were sponsored by the City Government in aid of legislation and in order to maintain its stance in reducing the amount of paper stacked in various offices.
This practice is in line with the resolution passed by the current City Council towards a minimal use of paper in every session. With the advancement of technology, this specific initiative aims to accommodate the benefits of technology for a more effective and efficient legislation.
The agenda for Council sessions are now open for public use in PDF format and now accessible in any electronic device. Various measures being tackled during sessions will now be available for the general public’s information and allow them to participate for the enhancement and improvement prior to the approval of these measures.
Unexpected loss of document will now be avoided as this practice will continue and the use of large stacks of paper in printing weekly will now be minimized.
